Funny Money!
The Wells Comedy Festival did more than just make us laugh. It also raised a lot of money for good causes. The 10th Anniversary Gala celebrations raised an amazing £4962.40 for local charities, half of which was given to us! Our thanks to Plosive, the organisers of the Wells Comedy Festival, and to all the event attendees who made this possible.
Trustees please
We are planning to expand our Trustee board. As a small charity with a lot going on we are looking for people who will be actively involved in running the charity, not just turn up for meetings. Contact us for more details.
Thoughtful Food
At present we are providing about 2500 individual meals to our clients every month. Thats a lot, but we believe that there are still many people in Wells who are experiencing food poverty but who aren't on our books. So this is just a reminder that we are open for business!
Supply and Demand
It can be a challenge running the furniture store. People give us furniture and we store it in our garages until we can distribute it. Recently we have been running at close to capacity, so we have had to be selective, only collecting items where there is the biggest need. Anyway in the last few weeks demand has increased significantly and we have been delivering beds, tables, chairs, wardrobes and fridges like they are going out of fashion. So more furniture please!
Volunteers?
We have a wonderful team of volunteers who keep the show on the road. However there are a few areas where we could do with some specialist skills. We are particularly keen to find people to join the furniture store team, either acting as back up driver or helping with loading and unloading. We would also appreciate help with marketing in general and social media in particular. If you think you could help us please get in touch.
