Harvest Festival Windfall
A big thank you to all the harvest festival food donations we received, including St Cuthbert’s Infant School, St Cuthbert’s Church, Wells Cathedral School, Wells Methodist Church, Hope Solutions and the Sunshine Club. If we have missed your name off the list we apologise but there was a lot going on. Your contribution was equally appreciated.
Wheely Good News
Another successful bike sale has been carried out by the good people at Millstream workshop, with the proceeds coming to us. They have given thousands of pounds to us over the years and we even get given the occasional bike if we have a client in need, Way to go!
Thoughtful Food
The Fosso Lounge just keeps giving. As well as donating funds raised in their monthly quiz, they have also been cooking up delicious lasagne for our clients, continuing their support for those in need in our community.
Grants Grants Grants
It was also a good year for grants. Arnold Clark gave us a grant to sort out signage at the Old Pump House. The ASDA foundation gave us money to buy white goods, allowing us to replace some of our more aged equipment. And an anonymous donor gave us a sizeable sum to help with recarpeting with our upstairs meeting room.
Its Christmas!
Christmas is a time for giving and it's amazing how generous the people of Wells and the surrounding villages have been in the last few weeks - even more so than usual, and that is saying a lot. We have had some very generous donations from individuals via our donate page. There was a collection taken at the Cathedral which raised a significant sum for us. Cooper & Tanner did what they do every year, organising a food drive and collection point for local business to drop off food items. We needed several journeys to get everything to the foodbank in the back of a very large car! Thanks also to the staff at Mogers Drewett for a very generous donation of both food and money.
